Why I chose OU: I couldn't dream of a better program than the University of Oklahoma. I wanted to go to a program with a big catchment area and a focus on resident training and autonomy. Not only does OUHS offer services exclusive to the state and some surrounding areas, but it is also in the center of a major US city. Being able to work at OUHS will allow me to see and do things that would be hard to replicate elsewhere. Also, OUHS makes the most out the 4 years we have to train. Starting in the intern year there is a focus on gaining a strong clinical foundation alongside the development of skills necessary to be a great Anesthesiologist. Beyond the training, when I visited OKC I was blown away by the food scene and the city. I couldn't be happier for this opportunity!
