Dr. Demvihin Ihyembe is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and the Developmental-Behavioral Pediatric (DBP) Fellowship Program Evaluation Chair at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC). She received her medical degree from St. George’s Unversity School of Medicine, Grenada and her undergraduate degree from University College London. Dr. Ihyembe is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce within the Department of Pediatrics at OUHSC; and also a member of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) where she has held leadership positions within the society’s international special interest group. She is a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Fellow and now serves as the DBP faculty member in the Oklahoma LEND program. Dr. Ihyembe is the DBP Medical Clinic Director at the OU Child Study Center. She enjoys providing diagnostic and treatment care for children with ADHD, autism, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, learning disorders, and parent-child relationship difficulties. Her particular area of interest is helping families navigate through the special-education system and she has conducted research related to this topic and others. Dr. Ihyembe is a native of Nigeria.
