Infectious Diseases

The OU Health Center campus is a 200-acre campus located one mile south of the state capitol in Oklahoma City.  It includes Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health, OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center, OU Health Harold Ham Diabetes Center, OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, and OU Health Sciences Center, which is one of only a few comprehensive health centers in the nation with seven health professional colleges - Medicine, Dentistry, Allied Health, Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, and the Graduate CollegeAlso on or near the campus is the Robert M. Bird Library, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Dean McGee Eye Institute, the State Department of Health, Oklahoma Blood Institute, Medical Examiner's Office and the Veterans Affairs Hospital.

The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is comprised of 21 academic departments.  Infectious Diseases is one of the 10 sections within the Department of Medicine.

The Section of Infectious Diseases at the University of Oklahoma is one of the 10 sections in the Department of Medicine dedicated to achieving the highest quality patient care and postdoctoral fellowship training in infectious diseases. This is achieved by our strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and collegiality, commitment to life-long learning and professionalism. The section consists of a diverse group of Infectious Disease specialists with different backgrounds and expertise, as well as adjunct and volunteer faculty and numerous associated practicing clinicians. The faculty are board-certified in Infectious diseases and provide inpatient and outpatient consultative care to patients with known or suspected infectious diseases.
