The Coaching Program at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, established in 2018, is designed to help residents grow into reflective, resilient, and lifelong learners. Each resident is paired with a dedicated coach from day one, creating a trusted partnership that continues throughout all three years of training.
By separating coaching from formal evaluation, we provide a safe space for honest reflection, feedback, and growth. Our faculty are trained through workshops and grand rounds to deliver meaningful feedback, and we emphasize developing a growth mindset that embraces vulnerability as a path to true professional development.
This unique, longitudinal coaching model ensures that every resident is supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
