Additional Student Resources 

We recognize that there are so many resources available and it can be intimidating to know where to start. We’ve compiled some sites that would may be helpful.

 ASA Medical Student Component: 1st through 4th year students
The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) is the overarching body for the majority of anesthesiologists. There is a dedicated page for medical students that organize a variety of topics that are useful for a student interested in learning more about the specialty:
https://www.asahq.org/education-and-career/asa-medical-student-component . There is an annual $10 fee for students to join. Highly recommended to support advocacy efforts. There are ongoing deadlines to apply for grants, leadership positions, mentorship, so please check the site often for updates.

OSA Membership: 1st through 4th year students.
The Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists (OSA) represents over 350 active, resident, retired and affiliated member physician anesthesiologists in Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists is a component of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. Anesthesiologists who practice in Oklahoma are required by ASA Bylaws to be member in good standing with OSA before making application for membership in ASA. https://www.osahq.org/pages/member_registration It is free for students to join.
