Message from the Fellowship Program Director

Thank you for your interest in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Training Program at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Our Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine training program is one of the oldest combined pulmonary and critical care programs in the country. We have been fully accredited by the ACGME since 1989, only two years after the first ABIM critical care certification exam was administered. Our program is a three-year training program and we graduate five to six trainees each year. Since inception, more than 130 individuals have graduated from our program and have gone on to positions in both academics and communities all over the country.

We are deeply committed to the training of well-rounded individuals who have both the depth of knowledge required of the next generation of pulmonary critical care experts, as well as the coping skills and work-life balance for long-term productivity. Our fellows are expected to function as junior faculty members, with the faculty always available for supervision and guidance. We take pride in our ability to tailor the program to the career aspirations of our fellows. In this regard, we can offer subspecialty electives, additional dedicated research time, as well as enrollment in didactic courses offered on campus.
