The University of Oklahoma Medical Center is the primary educational institution for the OU College of Medicine and is a 350-bed tertiary care center. With a wide array of sub-specialties and ancillary services OUMC serves as a referral center for the entirety of Oklahoma and several surrounding states. It is a Level I Trauma Center and an NCI-designated Cancer Center. The clinical experience at OUMC allows residents to care for a medically complex and culturally diverse patient population. Over the course of three years approximately 75 percent of the resident's training occurs at OUMC.
