I am Clinical Professor and Staff Neurologist at the Oklahoma University Medical Center and Oklahoma City VA Medical Center. I have over 40 years of experience as a physician. I received my MD degree from Dow Medical College, Karachi University, Pakistan. I did post-graduate training in United Kingdom and am a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, Ireland (MRCPI). I am Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and Fellowship trained and certified in Neuro-rehabilitation from Burke Rehab Hospital, Cornell University, NY. I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN) and American Neurological Association (FANA). 

My research interests are related to “Functional Motor Recovery Post-stroke” Measures, Interventions (nutritional, pharmacological and devices), and predictors.

  • Poststroke motor recovery using drugs, nutraceuticals, and electrical stimulation
  • Prevention of falls and pressure ulcers in patients with stroke and neurologic injury
  • Bowel and bladder management in patients with spinal cord injury
  • Spasticity management in patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
