The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Section provides direct patient care and consultation services for cancer and hematology patients, educates new physicians, and conducts clinical and basic science research.
Our faculty comprises board-certified, pediatric hematologist-oncologists and psychologists specially trained to diagnose and treat children and teens with cancers and benign hematologic disorders including bleeding and clotting disorders, sickle cell disease and related
hemoglobinopathies, and provide marrow/stem cell transplantation for selected malignant and benign disorders. Our comprehensive care includes access to state-of-the-art medical diagnosis and treatment in facilities that are patient and family friendly. Many of the available treatment opportunities we provide are unavailable elsewhere in the state. Our federally recognized comprehensive program for bleeding and clotting disorders is the sole site in Oklahoma. We also have the only FACT-accredited pediatric bone marrow and stem cell transplantation program in Oklahoma.
