Dr. McQuoid is an Assistant Professor in the TSET Health Promotion Research Center and the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. She is a health geographer who employs qualitative and mixed research methods to explore the interplay of people, their everyday environments, and behaviors related to health and wellbeing. Her projects have integrated ecological momentary assessment with qualitative mapping interviews to examine the everyday patterns, contexts, roles, and meanings of tobacco use and other substance use within various communities. Dr. McQuoid has been awarded funding for her work from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the American Cancer Society, the National Cancer Institute, and the California Tobacco Related Disease Research Program.
