Didactic Lectures

Our main focus for residents in training is creating an environment of continuous learning and inquiry using evidence-based medicine. The program provides outstanding training to prepare residents for successful careers in a wide variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, academic, rural, sports medicine, low risk obstetrics, global health and subspecialties. Wednesday afternoons are protected lecture time starting with a guest speaker for Grand Rounds followed by intern or upper level conference. 

Intern conference is dedicated for interns only with rotating faculty lecturers focusing on common disease management. Upper level conference for PGY2s and PGY 3s focus on board review, complex patient care presentations, journal club, CDM (clinic decision making), hands-on procedure practice and ClinIQ sessions. 

Didactic lectures on Fridays at noon are dedicated to a Sports Medicine topic. In addition, resident rotation with other programs (pediatrics, internal medicine, dermatology, OB/Gyn) are also expected to attend those program specific grand round lectures.
