Gilseung was born in South Korea and graduated with honors from Emporia State University (Kansas) in 2016. He started his Ph.D studies at the Frazer lab in 2016. The two main focuses of his Ph.D projects are to better understand glucocorticoid resistance mechanisms in T-ALL/B-ALL and how tumor oncogene induce two different tumors in one zebrafish animal. Gilseung enjoys playing basketball (which helps him move and confirm that he is still alive), and he likes to spend time at the lake with fish (besides zebrafish).
