Clinical/Research Interests:

Radiotherapy is a conventional treatment modality used to address solid tumors. However, the radioresistance of tumors consistently hampers the desired response to radiotherapy.

Natural Killer (NK) cells are innate lymphocytes possessing potent tumor surveillance and elimination activity. These remarkable cells play an increasingly pivotal role in integral antitumor strategies, particularly in the realm of immunotherapy. Notably, the cytotoxic activity of NK cells not only directly kills tumor cells but also enhances the tumor’s response to radiation by activating several radiosensitization pathways.

Understanding the intricate mechanisms of tumor resistance and harnessing the power of NK cells can significantly contribute to improved cancer treatment strategies.
