Barish H. Edil, MD, FACS

Barish Edil, MD, FACS, is a Professor and Chair of Surgery at the University of Oklahoma. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and works within the Gastrointestinal Cancers Clinic at Stephenson Cancer Center. Dr. Edil also serves on the Operations Committee and the OU Physicians Council at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Prior to joining the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Edil was the Chief of Surgical Oncology at the University of Colorado in Aurora, CO. He was also a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he served as the Director and Coordinator of the Physician’s Assistant Surgery Residency and the Medical Student Surgical Oncology Rotations.

Dr. Edil completed medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. He then attended the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center to complete a General Surgery Internship, a Surgical Oncology Research Fellowship and a General Surgery Residency. He also completed the Assistant Chief of Service in Clinical Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
