Clinical/Research Interests:

Dr. Szyld  is the current Co-Chair of the Neonatal Life Support Writing Group, American Heart Association/American Academy of Pediatrics which creates the resuscitation guidelines for the United States. He has served on the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation  Neonatal Life Support since 2003. Dr. Szyld's research focus is on Neonatal Resuscitation. His expertise is on multicenter pragmatic clinical trials. Dr. Szyld organized and participated in large studies evaluating different procedures in the Delivery Room leading to change in practice globally. In addition, he participated in large multicenter studies evaluating different strategies to reduce perinatal HIV transmission. Finally, he evaluated the impact of neonatal resuscitation training.
