Dr. Pérez is the Program Director for the College of Medicine Physician Associate Program. Dr. Pérez graduated from the US Army Physician Assistant School as the honor graduate and received his Bachelor of Science as Physician Associate with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 1988. He completed the United States Air Force Orthopaedic Surgery Residency for Physician Assistants and earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Pérez received his Doctor of Medical Science Degree in Physician Assistant Education from the University of Lynchburg. He served in the United States Army with the 82d Airborne Division and the United States Air Force with the Air Force Special Operations Command he retired from military service in 2005. Dr. Pérez began his career in physician assistant education in 2014 as the Founding Clinical Director for the Florida International University (FIU) Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program. He then was the Associate Program Director for the University of Texas Medical Branch John Sealy School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program until joining the University of Oklahoma.
